A Short History on Books

People and books are as insuperable as a man and his toupee and should anyone try to separate them the consequences would indeed be dire. Volumes have been around since we discovered two reeds could be dried ad pressed and form a flat surface to write on and even though the modern era has gone digital there is still room for the traditional book.

These hard copies will never loose their value and even though the information may be out dated we hang on to them for posterity and austerity. They are as valuable as ever and this is proven by the numerous copies that mere mortals are only allowed to peer at through several inches of bullet proof glass at different museums.

Manuscripts have been a source of information and fascination since Before Common Era where parchment was used to pen down the information and even with the introduction of the e-book and other versions that do not require the damage of trees these will continue to be an integral part of society. The e-book community has grown steadily over the years and is set to grow as the global village comes together in more ways than one increasing the amount of research to be done and converted into hardbacks.

The beauty of paperbacks is the amount of knowledge housed within the two covers. This data has been used to change many destinies by empowering the people that read to believe in themselves or make changes to their lives that have impacted generations.

Research and the book are an invaluable part of our lives and whether used for excellent or mediocre purposes the one thing that remains constant is their existence.

From the Bible to Charles Dickens to Shakespeare’s Hamlet these books have been used to gather and spread information from one generation to the other effectively.
